With 2012 fundraising, we purchased animal feed in June 2013. Due to the very poor 2013 rainy season in Namibia, animal feed in the form of grass was scarce. Throughout the country, wildlife that graze and livestock on farms have either starved or have been put down due to this plight. This has not been the case at Harnas. Due to this large donation, the grasses have ensured adequate supply of food for the animals that are being cared for as well as the prey animals in the Lifeline that the big cats hunt for their own survival.
Harnas USA Donations Support Cheeky Cheetah School
In April 2013, a few Harnas USA donors from California and Washington asked for their dollars to go towards helping the local San Tribe children who live at Harnas. While at Harnas a Board Member was able to shop and distribute three layers of uniforms, two school books, writing supplies, dish towel dresses, etc. to 17 children. These children arrive at school and are provided a shower, their uniform, two meals and an education. For more information about the Cheeky Cheetah School visit the Harnas website (www.harnas.org)
